Getting started

Set up in three steps

Nothing in this flow asks for an account or an email address. The wallet is created on your device, and you hold the only copy of the recovery phrase.

1

Install Eternl on your device

Add the browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera, or install the Android or iOS app. Both are free.

2

Create a wallet or restore one

Eternl generates a new recovery phrase on your device, or you can enter the phrase of a wallet you already have to bring it across.

3

Back up, fund and stake

Write the phrase down and keep it offline: it is the only way to restore the wallet. Then send ADA to your address and delegate the balance to a stake pool.

Cardano dApps

Connect to the Cardano dApps you already use

Eternl implements CIP-30, the connector standard Cardano apps use to talk to a wallet. A dApp can ask Eternl to sign a transaction, you see what it does and approve it, and your keys never leave the wallet.

FAQ

Eternl wallet questions, answered

Short answers to the questions people ask most before they install a Cardano wallet. Anything more detailed is covered in the Eternl wiki.

The wallet is free to download and free to use on desktop and mobile. There is no subscription and no premium tier. The only costs are the ordinary Cardano network fees on the transactions you send, which are shown before you confirm them.

Eternl is non-custodial, so your keys and recovery phrase stay on your device and are never sent to a server. You can pair a hardware wallet to keep the keys off the computer entirely. As with any wallet, whoever holds your recovery phrase controls the ADA, so keep it offline and never share it with anyone, including support.

Eternl is a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera, and an app for Android and iOS. The same wallet can be restored on both, so you can use the extension on a computer and the app on your phone.

Yes. Eternl works with Ledger, Trezor and Keystone devices, so you can keep your keys on dedicated hardware and confirm each transaction on the device itself.

Yes. You delegate to a stake pool from inside the wallet, and you can change stake pool whenever you want without moving your funds or losing your place.

Yes. Cardano native tokens and NFTs sit alongside your ADA in the same wallet, with a gallery view for your collection and support for sending several assets in one transaction.

Install Eternl again and restore the wallet with your recovery phrase. As long as you have that phrase, your ADA is not lost. Without it, nobody can recover the wallet, including Eternl.

No. There is no sign-up, no email address and no identity verification. Installing the wallet generates the keys on your device, and nothing else is required.
